TO PROVIDE PROPERTY TAX RELIEF; TO LIMIT THE INCREASE IN THE ASSESSED VALUE OF A TAXPAYER’S REAL PROPERTY FOR PROPERTY TAX PURPOSES AS A RESULT OF A COUNTY-WIDE REAPPRAISAL; TO PROVIDE A STATE CREDIT OF AT LEAST THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($350) AGAINST AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX ON A HOMESTEAD; CONCERNING ADJUSTMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES.
Personal Property - Business and individuals have to file their personal property to be assessed each year by May 31. Business Personal Property is defined as all of tangible property, such as, Furniture, Fixtures, Inventory, vehicles and equipment. Personal property that belongs to individual and is a taxable asset includes: all vehicles, RVs, golf carts, watercraft, aircraft, trailers, motorcycles, and livestock. The Arkansas Constitution establishes that these assets are assessed at 20% of their appraised value.

108 Spring St.Homestead Exemption - Homeowners in Arkansas may receive up to a $350.00 property tax credit on their homesteads. Eligibility for the credit is confined to a homeowner's principle place of residence. A homeowner is defined as someone who the owner of record, by deed or by recorded sales contract, or the beneficiary of a revocable trust owning the homestead. Nursing home or retirement center residents who own a home are also eligible for the credit; as are people who have deeded their homes to others while retaining a right to live in it until they die (A Life Estate).
Only one homestead per property owner is eligible to receive the tax credit. A residence who is sixty-five (65) years of age, or older, may be exempt in such amount as may be determined by law, but no greater than the first Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) in value thereof, as a homestead from ad valorem property taxes.
